Compassion and Community

Quality education cultivates compassion and a sense of community that is not limited by locality.

Through books, volunteering, videos, participating in cultural events, or just listening to the tales of those at hand, there are so many mediums through which the realities of our fellow mankind can be felt. By exploring an array of personal experiences spanning cultures, eras, and beliefs, our shared human design and interconnected realities become apparent.

Discussions about the evolution of social constructs and how different ideas came to dominate different cultures helps to break down barriers and find ways to make more meaningful connections with others. All the while, this deepens our understanding of ourselves, our own culture and our creator.

"Real education should educate us out of self into something far finer, into a selflessness that links us with all humanity." -Nancy Astor

Systemic problems and their roots can be complex but the human struggle can be simplified to relatable terms, as can the needs. What greater education can we offer our youth than that which gives them the ability and drive to make a difference with sensitivity to complexity, yet simplicity of intent?

Humanity is a nation’s greatest resource, compassion its greatest light, uplifting each soul with dignity.

Our Homeschool Objective #1

To cultivate within our children genuine compassion and a sense of community with all humanity.
